“Patient, Experienced & Compassionate…”

At Doggie Zen Den, our grooming salon is unique. Instead of one large open work area with all the tubs, driers & groomers in one space - exposing your dog to all kinds of noise, distractions, and stress - we give each of our groomers their own private groom room, so they pamper your pup in a quieter, lower-stress environment.

We groom by appointment only, so we can minimize how much time your dog has to spend at the salon. If your dog has passed a temperament test, you also have the option of including some playtime in the daycare before your dog’s groom, which is a wonderful way to provide some fun and exercise before their haircut or bath. Every full groom comes with a complimentary half day of daycare, if your dog has been approved to play and their vaccinations are up to date.

Tomas

Tomas started his career at Doggie Zen Den 11 years ago, first working in the kennels helping take care of the dogs and supervising Daycare. He then decided he wanted to learn to groom dogs professionally, and so he spent 3 years learning the art of grooming. For the past 6 years, he has been a vital part of our grooming department, grooming all breeds, sizes, and ages. In particular, he possesses excellent skill with grooming Schnauzers, Doodles, Shih Tzus, and drop-coated breeds like Maltese & Yorkies.

We appreciate Tomas for his sense of humor, his tireless work ethic, and his dedication to the dogs and his craft. He has a special patience and confident hand with the more difficult or temperamental dogs!

Valerie

Valerie started her career in the pet industry in 2011 after dipping her toes in the cosmetology industry. She started out with a boarding/daycare technician position while deciding what to do for a career, finally deciding on the grooming side of the pet industry.

Starting out as a bather in a salon, she worked her way to grooming assistant to groomer to lead groomer/grooming manager. She has been grooming for the past 10 years. Practicing on her own toy poodles and maltipoos, the poodle family of dogs have become her favorite dogs to groom, and during the COVID puppy boom she has had fun giving puppies their first haircuts while the puppies learn to get comfortable with the grooming process. Valerie is a Fear Free Certified Groomer.

Valerie has two dogs, (Yoda and Charlotte) and two cats (Kit-Kat and Kingston).
